lucile mardell kim

lucile was born at 10:42 pm, three hours after we
arrived to the hospital. she made quite an entrance --
after my water exploded all over the delivery room she
sort of tumbled out before everyone was quite ready for
her. she came into the world with a strong voice, wide
open eyes, and covered in vernix.

lucile mardell is named after my two grandmothers; one
whom i know very well and the other whom i never got a
chance to meet.

it seemed the entire stay at the hospital
was a big party! we had a birthday
celebration for lucile with pizza from
zachary's and a mermaid cake (my mom
nicknamed her 'the mermaid' long before
she was born). marley and maddox were
overjoyed to meet their new sister and
were very proud big brothers. our room
was full with family and friends while we
welcomed lucile with her first party! the
rest of the time passed in a frenzy of the
usual paperwork and tests that one must
go through to get released from the
hospital and then we got to go free!!
having my mother here was such a
wonderful gift. she was here for 18 days,
and joon and i are so appreciative of all
the help she gave us. marley and maddox
loved having their grandma around for so
long and we were all very sad when it was
time for her to go.
